| the weather allowed for boarstep to venture from camp without nuisance of rain, terrible heat or even fierce winds. it was actually quite clear, the sky its typical shade of baby blue with the occasional cloud populating its vastness. the clan was active at this particular point of time, with a hunting party having returned only moments ago. as the remaining elders and kittens were fed, boarstep decided to take this opportunity to appreciate the day. perhaps, if his luck served him well, he would even be granted the opportunity to pursue prey. it was at that moment that the tom paused all movement, deciding to taste the surrounding airs in hopes of acquiring a scent of some kind. with fewer mouths to feed, there was little worry over the amount of prey returning to the camp. still, the desire to provide for his clan was immense.
his mouth snapped shut, the subtle scent of rodent having brushed against his tongue. he began his stalking, the large tom managing the simple task of remaining silent so to approach the creature without being detected. still, boarstep's luck in regards to hunting remained infuriatingly poor. the creature had been grooming itself, quite oblivious to the tom staring at it intently. but the feline's rush had been far too soon, his steps noisy and his body colliding messily with the nearby shrubbery as the little beast ducked into a well-concealed hole.
"well."
the tom stepped free from the brush, his pelt now carrying a small amount of foliage and dirt that clung to him upon exit. still, he managed to maintain his dignity as he shook himself and huffed quietly. his tail twitched slightly as he proceeded to sit upon the earth and groom himself, a contemplative look twisting his features lightly.
"next time, then." |

WILLOWGAZE "You've got nowhere to go, but you'll go there again" The classic torbie had awoken early this sunrise. The sun warmed her brown and ginger bi-colored fur. The skies a pastel blue, slight littering of white clouds dappled the sky. Willowgaze veered towards the borders, making her usual checks. The borders had seemed quiet, no immediate threats capturing her attention and so the relatively young warrior made her way towards the hunting grounds. The warrior was starting to feel a pinch of hunger niggle at her lower stomach. It'd be good to catch some prey. Willowgaze was feeling weighed down with sadness on this particular sunrise. The sickness that had swept through the forest, claiming the lives of her mother, former mentor and many other excellent warriors continued to dwell on her mind. But, their deaths were history now. The time to mourn them had passed. It was now time to continue on with life. Willowgaze was a rather calculating and logical warrior. She knew that feeling sad over their deaths caught no prey, served no benefit to ShadowClan. However it still sometimes got the better of her.
The she-cat's ears slowly swiveled as she made her way through the forest. The sound of another's paw-steps caused her ears to suddenly point to the left. Curiously, Willowgaze drew towards the sounds. Two leafy oculars settled upon a russet-brown tom, Boarstep. The warrior watched as he clumsily collided with the foliage. The feline stifled a slight smirk. The she-cat concealed herself, continuing to watch until he had freed himself. What a clumsy tom. The torbie slowly approached the tom, intentionally making no effort to silence her steps so that the other knew of her approach. "Better luck next time, huh?" She called out.
Boarstep Ugh sorry, hope this is alright c:
