ThunderClan
Briarheart
AGE
48 Moons
GENDER
Male
RANK
Deputy
APPEARANCE
A large, brown tabby tom with light green eyes. He is a beast of a creature, he stands taller than most cats and even under his large, thick coat it appears he is completely muscled, the perfect specimen in order to protect his clan the way it should be. Proud, powerful, and seems to be as immovable as a stone. Unlike many cats he has not been weakened by the "biting sickness" and has in fact seemed to be one of the very few that thrives, a statue of what Thunderclan used to be and what it will be again in the future.
PERSONALITY
He is a passionate, outspoken tomcat with a drive to continue the strength that ThunderClan has shown in the past, he refuses to allow any of his Clanmates to fall into despair and even with the death of so many he has kept his head up, confidence high and remained the very proud ThunderClan warrior which has given him the very strength he holds so close to him.
His confidence comes off as egotistical to many, and even those in his own clan may see him as boasting with his inability to be brought down by anything or annoying in his insistence that everything will turn out alright. His faith in the warrior code and StarClan is strong, so those who break the warrior code or disrespect their ancestors are bound to find themselves on a very bad side of this cat.
There is a very large dislike and distrust of cats outside of his clan, his opinions of the other Clans are low and at most he is slightly tolerant of them, indifferent towards their struggles but if it may help ThunderClan in the long run he would support the choice to help another Clan. In his opinion outsiders should never be allowed in.
HISTORY
Briarkit was born as the single kit from his parents litter, it had been a bad leafbare and if there were any more kits that grew inside of his mother then they did not develop enough to last any amount of time so all that was left was Briarkit. He was large even at birth, his mother claimed that she didn't need anymore kits, only Briarkit was good enough-he was the perfect ThunderClan breed. He grew up under this thought, that he was exactly what ThunderClan should be, what they needed to look up to and so he trained himself with that exact thought in his head, passion and love for his Clan fueled everything he did. His distrust for others outside the Clan grew the more he listened to the warriors gossip after gatherings or hearing about lowlife rogues and loners that sometimes appeared on the border trying to steal prey from Queens, Elders, and Kits. The innocent lives of those that can't care for themselves or spend their time caring for the young was more important than anything, especially more important than rogues who think they own every land they step on.
His apprenticeship was nothing too unusual, he has the drive and dedication to be trained into a good hunter and even better fighter. His large size made it a little difficult for him to hunt but he adapted to it and learned that his strength would always be towards protecting those around him, it was something he took pride in. When he became a warrior the -heart in his name stood for his dedication, his passion and love for his Clan.
Once the Sickness started spreading Briarheart realized something at the gathering when Froststar told them of what had happened-ShadowClan could have prevented this and they could have gone through great lengths to do something earlier but instead they let this tragedy happen! This sickness spread through the Clans, it killed many and caused good cats to turn on each other but most importantly it hurt his Clan, caused panic and discomfort and forced them all to make a choice after so many ended up dead from this. They kicked out the sick cats, exiled the ones who refused to go through with it, so many cats left the Clan on their own terms that it seemed like no one would stay. But some did, and even with the small amount of cats they had Briarheart knew that they would be okay.
The death of their longterm deputy, Snowfire, a cat who had been deputy for over thirty moons(since Bearstar became leader) had forced the hand and Briarheart was strong still, no weakness from the illness, no loss of faith from everything that had happened. He was still here, still had so much to offer the Clan and so was chosen as deputy for ThunderClan, a duty he has always wanted since kithood and he is taking strives to be the best deputy he could possibly be.
SEXUALITY
Heterosexual.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Briarheart's tail twitched in anticipation, this was a moment he has been looking forward to since...since his apprenticeship! The moment that he would be recognized as a warrior worthy to be looked up to, to help his Clan become strong again. The Great March was behind them now, the cats who were sick or wanted to leave were all gone and it was time to build themselves up to be grander than they ever were. There were so many dead and gone, so many that he had cared for but they had to keep moving forward as everything happened for a reason. He could not help but believe that this is exactly where he was supposed to be, staring up at his leader with absolute admiration-Bearstar was someone who had fought so hard, lost so much, but still managed to stay standing, to lead them through this.
His pelt was on fire, at least that's what it felt like and he was amazed at himself that he managed to keep as still as he was, or keep his mouth shut about how completely and wonderfully thankful he was to have this chance, to prove himself to his Clan, to StarClan, and even to himself.
"I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors, including the now deceased Snowfire, may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of ThunderClan is Briarheart."
He jumped up, unable to stay sitting any longer and with the Clan behind him, calling out his name his eyes were wide with joy and an eagerness to lead. Briarheart glanced back at his Clanmates, they were all as important and close to him as any family member he's had. He was practically glowing, the approval of his Clan all he wanted and now he has it, Briarheart was not going to let them down and he would help lead them through this darkness!
