What's up our lovely admins! I have been wondering if OOC accounts will ever be considered here in Hiraeth. I have always been fond of OOC accounts; they can be useful to take care of all out-of-character goofs and gaffs and, more importantly, plotting. It may be a little hectic, with all the accounts hanging around, but it might give the site a more active feel to it. You know: having members logging into both OOC accounts & IC accounts. Hey Elian! I'm probably speaking for both Heika and I (though obvs Heika can weigh in as well), but for the most part we do allow OOC accounts - we just don't specifically endorse them? I, personally, am not overly fond of an account that's just used for general OOC shenanigans (with the exception of my admin account, since when I'm not an admin, I typically don't create one if I don't have to), and I don't want to have it be a requirement for people if they don't want them. At the same time, this is just my own personal view, so I'll let Heika add her own thoughts, as she's also an owner, and I'm mostly just here for behind-the-scenes work lol. At the same time, if Heika likes the idea, and the current membership group is okay with it, I don't see the problem with shifting to a system based entirely around having an OOC account followed by the character accounts. As of right now, since Lir and I only keep OOC accounts for admin work, I can also agree with not specifically endorsing them. But, since I can also see the usefulness of having one general OOC account (and add the fact that Lir and I do cheat every now and then and use our admin accounts for plotting and stuff like that lmao) I also agree that if the community wishes to have OOC accounts, I don't mind shifting the site dynamic to be focused around them, while still preserving the "account-per-character" system that we use.  @elian1 Lirriel |
