SMOKEWHISKERSmokewhisker padded into the camp, dropping the lizard he'd caught into the fresh-kill pile. There was still so little in there... More warriors needed to go out and hunt.
"The dawn patrol is still out," Smokewhisker murmured to himself. "Hardly any cats around." He turned to cast his gaze around camp, hoping to spot an idle cat. Perhaps he could ask Robinleap to organise a hunting patrol. Was the deputy out patrolling the borders? He couldn't remember.
The grey-and-white tom shook his head, wishing it was clearer. He'd been hunting since dawn, and - come to think of it - he had been up late hunting over the past days. There was still so much more to do. Smokewhisker turned to look around again, in case anyone was in the camp. @anyoneatall | Just starting something. Feel free to join.

if we manage to get this right they'll surrender by early light
351 // Smokewhisker // For once my angry child is kind of happy LOL | Leopardpaw slunk out of the apprentice’s den, jaws opening wide as she yawned and stretched languidly in the crisp, morning air. The sun had barely just started to peek through the horizon, but, for the most part, the dawn’s darkness lingered on. But, she quite honestly preferred it that way. The world was quiet, and there were no annoying clan mates around to bother her. But, even more so, it was one of the only times of day that hadn't changed, even after the biting sickness had destroyed the Clan. When she was just a new apprentice, early mornings were near silent, the world having yet to pull itself out of its sweet dreams. And now, months later, it was yet still, fragile as though a single word could shatter the peace, but oh-so beautiful in that sense. Indeed, dawn was her favorite time of day.
Opening her eyes slowly, she blinked away the bleariness of her vision and glanced around camp, noting the meager fresh-kill pile and the warrior, Smokewhisker, who stood near it. He was one of the few in camp that she never really minded, not that it meant that she enjoyed his company either. It was merely that he did not go out of his way to annoy her, and that was a trait Leopardpaw could appreciate. Similarly, she did her best to reign in her sharp tongue and bitter words when speaking to him. It was an unspoken agreement only one party was privy to, but, as far as she was concerned, Smokewhisker did not need to be enlightened. She enjoyed being in control of things on her end, and, as long as he continued in this fashion, there would be no problems between them.
Padding over in hopes of grabbing a quick breakfast, Leopardpaw greeted Smokewhisker curtly — but that was about as amiable as she got. “Good morning,” she spoke, nodding at him before turning her attention to the pathetic selection of fresh-kill. If she had noticed his fatigue, she showed no indication of it and continued with her task at hand. |

SMOKEWHISKER"Good morning."
Smokewhisker saw Leopardpaw walk into view and approach the fresh-kill pile. The sight of a clan member was slightly reassuring for his frayed nerves.
"Good morning, Leopardpaw. I was hoping to see another cat about," he greeted. "The fresh-kill pile's low. Do you want to go hunt, so long as you weren't too set on having a relaxing morning?" It did seem like the apprentice was about to have her morning meal, and Smokewhisker could appreciate the value in waking up slowly, but he would not enjoy waiting around for another warrior or apprentice to show up.
"You can eat first, of course," he added. The grey-and-white tom sat, ignoring the faint weariness in his limbs as he moved them, and gestured to the fresh-kill pile with his tail. "But I know the rest of ShadowClan won't be yowling with joy when they see this big heap of prey."
His eyes flicked over to the tabby, passively awaiting a response. | PS: I approve of the quote on your template

181 // Smokewhisker // Who's Hamilton trash? :^) | Pausing in her selection, Leopardpaw swiveled her head to look over at Smokewhisker, considering his offer. As much as she disliked mornings, the apprentice wasn’t one to pass up on a chance to practice and improve her skills; every hunting patrol and fighting practice she attended meant that she was another step closer to finally receiving her warrior name. So, with a quick, decisive nod, Leopardpaw said, “Of course. Just give me a moment.”
Leaning forward, she pawed aside some of the larger prey to reach a smaller lizard. Grasping it firmly within her jaws, she fished it out of the pile and dropped it at her paws. Not bothering with pretenses, she bit into it ravenously and tore at it until the only evidence of its existence was a slight smear of red around her muzzle. But, soon enough, that too was washed away as her tongue darted out of her mouth quickly and retreated within the same heartbeat.
“I’m ready,” she said, getting to her feet and looking expectantly at the warrior, waiting for him to take the lead. |
